You're a bit rushed and don't feel having perfectly straight lines of cutlery in the drawer matter much. I agree. I'm not very rushed but as long as they're clean and I can find them, I don't mind if they're not neat. The same with cabinets and the stuff in the fridge. I keep my clothing drawers fairly neat because I don't want the clothes (even the socks) to be a wrinkled mess when I put them on. Our mothers were of a different generation when they had less opportunity to be known for their "accomplishments" so they put the effort into those domestic things. We have other opportunities to express ourselves -- hurray! My mom was a perfectionist, but mainly about sewing. Not a stitch was out of place. Kitchen drawers? Aim for the right slot. I think it was/is a matter of priorities. Every now and then getting disgusted with the mess coincides with the need for a break, and I'll sort out a drawer, dumping crumbs and making it perfect. That's art. Art as in cake icing. Meant to be appreciated in the moment, not maintained or put on display.

Fun, fun post.Sharon Lippincotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16269757107845288737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-83140507148348513.post-37861362745950182562013-09-03T03:33:24.702-07:002013-09-03T03:33:24.702-07:00So glad that happy days are here again for you Dee...So glad that happy days are here again for you Dee.

16 hours ago · Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-83140507148348513.post-90411890154149600512013-09-03T03:32:51.104-07:002013-09-03T03:32:51.104-07:00What a Mighty God we have -- the Great Physician. ...What a Mighty God we have -- the Great Physician. Part of the reason is to conserve water when well water levels are down. Septic tanks could overfill, I suppose, and it takes power to run the pump to get water out of the well.

Today somebody would surely whip out an iPhone and those bears would be on YouTube in three minutes! It takes sooo long for June 21st to arrive...the longest day of the year. And then suddenly, the days start growing shorter. I guess there is nothing we can do about it but cherish each day for what it is.

My wren is still around. She arrives right around May 1st and doesn't depart until Aug. I love her cheerful songs all summer and feel sad when I suddenly realize in Aug that her song is missing.

I agree that our winters are much too long. I wouldn't mind the winter so much if I didn't have to drive to work on snowy roads...or drive in the dark in the mornings. If I could stay home during the winter months I could take long walks through our woods and I always have plenty of inside projects to do...crafts, sewing and baking cookies for the grand kids. Oh, and I agree, I would find it difficult to leave my precious granddaughter all winter long just so I could be a snowbird in Florida.

Thanks for sharing your blog. I do not have close relationships with cousins. In fact, one very nice one disappeared from contact. I have asked cousin on mother's side, who is a nun and did extensive search of geneology for many years to share. She never has done so. No one in her family has any children to pass this wonderful information to preserve. Counsin on Dad's side has info from her Mom, my very dear aunt, and said she would send me last year. Still not received.
